Miller REACHES OUT!
Weekly update for Monday, November 30, 2011 through Friday, December 2, 2011. Please note I changed up the pages on my web site and lost all of my past updates. I am working to bring those back online. Also, I have moved Principal Decker's Blog site to another location.
Please check out the photo slide show at Good Things @ Miller on the front of the web page. The weekly section titled, "Miller Highlights" shows photos of the week and each Thursday morning at breakfast I play the slide show for the students and staff. All seem to be enjoying the weekly slide shows.
Also I am looking for feedback on our iMiller project. You can also check out the blog, a web site location to have dialogue online and provide feedback to the moderator, which in this case is me. To continue our study and planning of implementing iPads, we are sending a team of adults from Miller to Canby, Oregon to check out how the Canby school district implemented their iPads. Our team makes that trip this week on December 8, 2011.
This week Superintendent Opstad, Seventh grade parent Dee Anne Shaw, Eighth grade parent Jennifer Hagen, and World Scholars Director Pam McCauley came to Miller this past week and spoke with about 150 seventh and eighth graders about the World Class Scholars Program. The students learned that if they keep their grades up and do community service between their 7th grade year and senior year that they can earn a $1500 dollar scholarship to Grays Harbor Community College. See more on the World Class Scholars by clicking here.
Hope you are getting a chance to check out our girls basketball games in the Miller gym and this coming week we have a number of music concerts that I hope you plan to attend.
Have a Good Week!
